Focus

Ok so I lost focus. I got side tracked,I know this doesn't happen to you,(smile). I sat down to read my mail, coffee in hand my notes near by (for my next blog).I had plan to go right into my next article and my blog on joeygee007.Then it happened. I was sucked in by one of the email's subject titles and before I knew it I lost an entire day researching something. It was subtle I was curious to find out if what the sender had to say , was true.

I don't write well to begin with, so I research everything I am blogging about to maintain my integrity. I don't want to tarnish an other wise ruined reputation for the sake of sounding like I am an expert on any topic.I enjoy finding ways to build traffic and drive traffic to my sites. When I say to someone that something will work I want to be sure it's tested and true.

So I keep notes for a follow up blogs and try to keep on task. But the other day everything was put to the side. I thought I could blow through this new and easy way to drive traffic to my affiliate sites and I opened what turned out to be a can of worms, all good stuff, but the research and testing took me way south, on a journey.

Great for a future articles but before I knew it I was consumed. As usual I got an idea after reading the email that led me to a videos on marketing that led me to a download, upload and off the road. Just getting an idea wasn't enough, I thought I could set everything up and run a test then go back to my plan for the day and write that follow hub page.P.S. Next thing I know I lost a full two days trying some new stuff and testing the results.

Has that ever happened to you? Everyone talks about information over load but what about curiosity overload ? I can't believe I am the only one out their who gets sucked in by powerful Ad Titles .Looking back on the last couple of days I realized that my desire to write about marketing online and my thirst for knowledge and insatiable curiosity - is taking me down a road I have been before.

Twenty plus years ago I started a business related to the construction industry.I found myself needing to re-invent myself to support my family and wanting to build new skill sets. The more I learned the more I realized how little I knew. I closed my business to go to work with a General contractor so that I could learn more.Needless to say after twenty years in that industry I was successful in achieving all my goals only to have the rug pulled from under me by a harsh and unforgiving economy. Can you hear my anguish in my voice (I am getting a little better at writing).

Yes I did a lot of stuff these last two days, that will serve me for future articles.I also came away from that experience with the realization that I have a passion for it. As it is, I have so many irons in the fire at this point I feel so over whelmed and almost afraid I won't finish what I set out to do or take twice as long to do it.I have to stay focused.

Broken focus is a huge problem. Am I alone here ? Is there anyone that faces a similar problem? If you are not new to working from home help me out here, have you ever set out to write something or do something and just found yourself loosing a sense of time and direction?

I would like to hear from someone on this.I like being on a schedule to crank these lessons out. I need to know that what I write is helpful, interesting , factual and timely.

If you are reading this and you have had problems staying on task in the past and have found a way to avoid these types of escapades ,please tell us how you handled it.How were you able to stay focused. Do I take the time to write out a plan? I mean I thought it was enough to tell my readers what I was going to share, share it and then go over what I shared.I don't know if that's enough. What are your thoughts.

Talk to me.

I feel what your writing and the frustration. Sorry to hear about the business, but I'm 100% sure that you can get it back, 10 times better if you focus on how to get there again.

It's easy to lose Focus and I'm guilty of it too especially when I'm juggling 5 balls in the air. I deal with it by feeding my mind with info that will help me stay focused.

Personal Coaches help. I can't afford them but through Business Social Networking have been able get their websites and follow them on Twitter. This way I get all their Tweets (links) and they are very very helpful in bringing my Focus back. Our mind just needs to be alert and have the correct mindset.

Some that you might find useful are:

coacahmefree.com

stephen pierce (check him out on internet) He was bankrupt twice and now runs a multi million dollar biz. You can get free audio's / articles from him. Very generous Guy.

encouragxcellns - One of many that I follow on Twitter. (the name is their twitter profile)

There might be other ways, but this is how I stay focused. Would like to write more, but it will end up being a Hub in your comments box. lol.

Best Wishes.
